Materials and Logistics Manager Appointed

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to EPM Composites Limited – Materials and Logistics Manager, Philippe Brayshaw.

EPM Composites Limited, one of the UK’s leading carbon composite manufacturers’ has made an appointment within their Purchasing team.

Having over ten years’ work experience within the retail industry, Phil brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in Operations and Ecommerce and will be working alongside the existing management team within EPM.

Commenting on his new appointment Phil said,” I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with the existing management structure to build on their extensive knowledge and experience within the composite industry”.

Lee Hickling, Managing Director said “Phil will be heading up the Purchasing and Logistics division, keeping both departments running smoothly through our busy workload”.

Prior to joining EPM Composites, Phil was Head of Operations and Ecommerce at Love Aroma Limited, a company specialising in the home fragrances.

Farnborough International Airshow 2018

The Farnborough International Airshow is a week-long event which began in 1948. This event combines both a trade-show and public air displays, making it a must visit for anyone passionate about all things aerospace.

This year was EPM’s first attendance to the show which compromised of all different shapes and sizes of aircrafts within the aerospace industry, even including a flying car!

Battery Recycling

We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and continually improving the companies environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our operating methods.

With this in mind we have introduced battery recycling into the facility via European Recycling Platform (ERP) adding to our recycling scheme. The scheme has been implemented to reduce waste on site through the recycling of waste produce.

Turning Centre

We are able to turn components with our in-house turning capability.

Haas ST-10 specification:

  • CNC Lathe; 14″ x 16″ (356 x 406 mm) max capacity,
  • 1.75″ (44 mm) bar
  • 16″ (406 mm) swing
  • 15 hp (11.2 kW) vector drive
  • 6000 rpm, A2-5 spindle
  • 6.5″ (165 mm) chuck.

The ST-10 gives EPM the capability to manufacture complex parts with its generous travel and small footprint, having a built-in thread-repair screen for both straight and tapered threads. The Hass ST-10 Lathe is ideal for high-volume and high-production within our CNC environment.

UB Racing – Platinum Partner

UB Racing are a group of students based in the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Birmingham, who have designed and in the process of building a single-seat race car to compete in the Formula Student competition on 11 – 15 July 2018 held at the Silverstone Circuit.

Being Europe’s most established educational engineering competition, Formula Student aims to develop and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering.

EPM Composites Limited have been a platinum partner to the UB Racing team for over four months commencing in December 2017, which was a continued partnership from epm: Technology. Currently, they are on their way to completing this year’s monocoque.

The team have been using our facility, which has allowed them to gain first-hand experience and knowledge from all our staff member’s as and when required on laying up the carbon monocoque, as well as making use of our autoclave. As part of EPM’s on-going partnership our branding will be visible on the car and on the team kit.

Bennetts British Superbike Championship – Race 1

The opening of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship race was held at Donington Park on Sunday 1 April 2018. Bradley Ray road to victory after holding onto an early lead, taking his first British Superbike win of the season.
